About The Book: He was the son of a wealthy businessman in England. She was the daughter of a poor Scottish coalminer. As the nineteenth century drew to a close, Gottlob Müller packed his bag, left his family behind and boarded a ship to Canada, joining the scores of child immigrants that would soon become known as Home Children. Four days after the sinking of the Titanic a decade later, Gladys Mitchell sailed with her family from Glasgow to Halifax, in search of a better life in Canada.

About The Author:  Born in northern Alberta, Gloria lived in a number of locations throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, before moving to Ontario.   She is married to Ron, her high school sweetheart; is the mother of three sons and the proud Gram to two beautiful granddaughters.

  A Pilgrim Passing Through is Gloria’s first work of fiction and is the result of her combined interest in history and genealogy. Her previously published works include two family histories – From Islay They Came and The Clockmaker’s Children.

Gloria has put out an amazing novel with her first work of historical fiction.  This was an enjoyable read that once I started reading I didn’t want to put down.  Gloria did an excellent job with the historical research for this novel.  Several times during the story I thought “Wow, did that really happen?”  I loved the story and felt like I had been taken back in time.  The ending of A Pilgrim Passing Through left me wondering –-    I can’t wait for the next book.

 A Pilgrim Passing Through is one book that I just couldn't put down till I finished it. It tugged at my heart as I was reading it...so moving to read what they went through. It is a great book to read and I look forward to reading more.

I really enjoyed this book. I found it difficult to put down as I wanted to see what happened next. It was very interesting to see how people might have lived before my time and some of the sacrifices that one would have had to make in order to better their lives. I can't wait for the next book to be published.
